We actively promote a healthy eating policy in the setting. All meals and snacks are nutritionally planned and prepared in our kitchen. We know that simple and wholesome food done well is one key aspect to happy children. We use fresh and locally grown food produce where possible. We believe it will set a pattern for the rest of the children’s lives by involving them in preparing healthy food at a young age. Each child’s individual dietary needs are readily taken into account and our meals ae shared with parents daily. Here is what we provide plus a few examples of the children’s favourite meals and snacks):

Breakfast:
Porridge with banana
Tom’s famous overnight oats with grated apple
Wholemeal toast fingers with chia seed jams (homemade & sugar free)
water 

Mid-morning snack:
Children choose their favourite fruit or veg snack plus water or milk 

Lunch:
Healthy pick n mix style lunch with plenty raw cut up veggies (soft cooked for babies & young toddlers), cheese, eggs, crackers, toast fingers, wraps etc.
followed by fresh fruit 

Mid-afternoon snack:
Children choose their favourite fruit or veg snack plus water or milk 

Tea:
Whole-wheat pasta with hidden veggie tomato sauce & cheese
Veggie bean chilli with quesadillas
Veggie omelettes
Baked sweet / potato with broccoli & beans
Pea & courgette risotto
followed by yogurt (Greek, natural or plant based)
water
